mrs. @pawayusa

quite a lazy sunday today... i slept the whole afternoon! yikes!
this is the time of year when BCC is also rather quiet in the afternoon. i guess that contributed a lot to the way I spent it, haha.

Ayumi

I am always so blessed to see my mom doing the pastor-duties... Today, she dedicated Ayumi Sugo, our neighbor's baby (also Kuya Nelson's niece).

Bem played the guitar while Lai, Gen and me sang songs! Haha. Truly, serving God is a family affair.

Siyempre, libre among Christmas lunch! nyahaha.

Christmas celebration with the cell group

Ministry... it could be sharper and efficient with two working together. Our heart is to really minister to the married (aside from the many things we want to do for the Kingdom; yes, we're taking things one step at a time!). Today, I must say that we had one of the best Christmas celebration we could ever have! See it here.

it's rather sad that we can't go to Asingan over the new year. As planned, we will be celebrating it there while we will be in Davao for Christmas. We already have our tickets booked but Gen's work is really demanding at this time. Our ticket is from CDO airport also---which is tragically spent by the cruel Sending typhoon. We opted to stay, and we had the Word, too. We're happy.

So today, we send a part of our love to our precious family! Merry Christmas!!!

missionary #1

Sending off Chemise... bittersweet... as I can vouch of her very willing and passionate service. This is truly first of what we envisioned. Gen used to make me see that we will be training/sending missionaries and pastors. I never knew it could be that early. Well, not really. I have been discipling Chemise as far as I could remember. Twelve years. And now, it's time for the next season of her ministry. We are truly happy and excited for her and how the church in Cambodia would expand. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for allowing us to be a part of it! =)

refining your faith journey

Pictured is Gen preaching at Kabacan (4hours from Davao) ministry. Our going-four-months fellowship is thriving. Thank you, Lord. If not for the young leaders who were serious in setting the meetings up, it wouldn't be this alive. (of course, by the Spirit of the Lord. Zech4:6)

Today, Gen preached about [the title]. And I was personally blessed. Hindi nga pwedeng nakikihakbang lang. We have to own the journey. Because we can only give what we own. And then, it will be the Lord who will be sustaining us. He is our Destiny, anyway. =)

The round-trip was an ordeal but we were so refreshed by the presence of the brethren. Everyone was becoming a family to each other. Plus, the host family, the Marasigan's were feeding us well. Tataba kami sa ministry! haha.

kopi roti love

We grew up with this kopi roti as much as i could remember. mama would bring this from wherever city she could find. i only remember it when we passed by Kopi Roti (cafe) and this is their specialty. Kopi for coffee and roti (malay/indian term) for bread...

It definitely helped us prepare for our cell group today! haha.

another year of photojournalling

preached at youth reload... why, i so miss preaching at reload...

and then, i got a gift! from Langga... I wouldn't want to open the carefully-wrapped present. And it enclosed this:

A french-inspired photojournal called "Parisgraphy"...
It tickled my documentacious heart... i can't wait to start!

Thank you, Langz! You remembered me well. So blessed to have your familyhood!

the board shop

Mama, dedicating the Board Shop (items on sale are still pricey. #totally)

Gen was supposed to come with us at the Wakeboard Resort. Work demands kept him from seeing the cool sport. Really, I would want to try it myself. Haha.

Mama dedicated the Board Shop which is co-owned by Kuya Orland and Ate Maloi Ang (from BCC). Met foreigners and locals. I wanted to start a cell right there. hehe. But most of them are tourists. It was a tournament elims. Tomorrow will be the finals. I hope I could come back as ate Maloi would want Gen to come.

the big thirty

it's my La-Love's birthday today. we're keeping the big thirty low key. i cooked spaghetti for breakfast, rushed off to bring papa to the airport and had a great time gabbing/ministering to Leclec as we sent her off to Kabacan. we picked up some goodies for some of our inaanak's. full house mall. jammed traffic. not surprising. typical of the holidays.

did some kitchen work:

ouie, crema de fruita----a specialty i inherited from mama. =)

we spent the night practicing with the newlyweds for tomorrow's presentation. i hope we will redeem ourselves from last week's performance! (yeah, right, everything that's from the heart is acceptable to God!)

and here's the (really) cute gift box i got for him: (okay, ako ang happy sa box! haha!)

God is awesome today. And i will be endlessly thankful to him for allowing me to spend a lifetime of birthdays and unbirthdays with my true love (next to the Lord), Genesis.

aboard the bus that's aboard the barge going to the Island Garden City of Samal! :)

wednesday nights will be open cell nights for us. Gen mused at the ministry adventure we had, "it's great doing all this with you!"

bus. barge. single motorcycle. and a bit of hike.

ha.

and we were so happy meeting the family we had to minister tonight. may God use them as kingdom builders in IGaCoS! :)

love doesn't pay the bills

chicken macaroni soup, shrimp and coles law with cheese mustard and strawberry vinegarette (+rice xempre!) made our dinner tonight! :):)

our first electric bill arrived. we were totally preparing for responsibilities like this. and to our surprise, it is something we could really afford: 12.00 Php!

weeeeee!!!

the Lord knows we need that transition period. we used to live a life free from bill payments (well, personally as a
pastor's kid, we were graced to live at the parsonage--where basic bills were free. yes, we're blessed to have thoughtful leaders in BCC!) and now we're here---paying our bills! Pastor Rich once said we have to prepare ourselves doing so. Love doesn't pay our bills. we have to work and earn money!

to Gen and I, we love paying our bills. it means God is always providing for us! wow! :):)

let's all live joyful!

budgeting is practical wisdom

just made coffee for my dear bestfriend...

he's burning the night lamp tonight... i guess he's all too excited to work as he got a raise... woohoo, really PTL for that!

and me... what do i do?

yes... very delighted to accompany him through the wee hours of the night. that's only if i don't fall into the spell of my youth! (haha)... really, i'm teaching hubby to multi-task. he's working and at the same time discussing with me our finance... budgeting is good. they say, we make a budget NOT because our money is scarce, but because we have money (thank You, Lord!)--yes, we have money to do budgeting with!

arayt!

pastors to the married

Shong & Cathy's wedding today... it makes my heart cry watching this beautiful couple (from our cell group) unite in a covenant with the Lord... it was entirely a beautiful wedding. it actually reminds me of what happened with ours. it wasn't so long ago, although it seems like it. nostalgia hits again, yes!

the couple's cell group we're handling is really from the Lord. receiving praise reports and text messages from this two is confirming our heart for this ministry. we wanted to see this nation changed; we have to start changing families. and we that, it requires strong and godly marriages.

i believe God is putting us in this post--team building with young couples and married couples to be. so helps us God.

house of prayer

taking things slow when it comes to fixing our temporary home... i guess there would be a lot of moving-out's and moving-in's. ala-Abraham-and-Sarah na gyud ni...

for now, we carry soooo much desire and burden to see this nation saved... we can only pray... and that's about it this week...

God speaks. His secrets are not forever. He always shares His will to those He loves.

gieving vs. dreaming

[the sleeping dinosaur island in Mati City]

BCC Staff overnight at Welborn's Beach Resort in Magnaga, Pantukan (more than 2-hrs ride)... We hit the road a little earlier to head off to Mati, past the venue. We had to see Langga. Her father died.
...
I could not imagine losing a father. It will just be to heavy and empty-ing. (I know the Father is everything we are we could ever be!)

I was so blessed to see her overcoming the grieving period and be able to witness to her late father before the departure. There was so much victory that we could only share laughter despite the bawling moments we had. Familyhood. As spiritual as it is, it comforts more than we know and lasts more than we could measure.

During the trip, Gen and I had dreaming-moments... a church planted there... raising disciples who would one day govern the city.

dreams... powerful than it really is.
cheaper than we thought...
too expensive when we forfeit the opportunity.

for us who still breathe, let's keep on dreaming things for God... and daring them!

after ministry treat

After our cell group, we rushed home to finish many different things... and first off is dinner. (So, what happened to my-meat-is-to-do-the-will-of-God? LOL.)
I started frying pork leans... Gen volunteered finishing it... Tossed up some whole kernels (and secretly-no-more-secretly-now made my infamous PiNATAka! Will post tomorrow, because it's for tomorrow's lunch... needed to chill it for a time...)... And there's 2 glasses of Banoffee... Yeah! For real! And that leads to this:

We had a happy dinner... and we actually mused that the happiest thing we had today aside from finally grocery shopping the needs in the house, we had our cell group meeting back!

good night everyone... Church tomorrow!

corned corned beef

It's Gen's turn to cook. Corned corned beef----my first time! Experiment yata... haha... Well, they say, there's not much rules on cooking--so you're definitely free to toss up whatever's in the kitchen.

we had rice, too. =D (not in picture)

We're off to BCC for staff work... Cell group this afternoon! Yeah!

sinigang

yeah, my first cooking now that I'm happily-married. this for our dinner before we go to Reload. let's go!

new normals

welcome to our new blog... we decided to create another one as most posts (more on the kitchen and other home stuff) will no longer fit on the wedding theme... will still update it though since i want to write more revelations regarding relationships...

if you have tips to share, that will be most welcome, too.
